NATIONAL DENTAL SURVEY OF FIVE YEAR OLD CHILDREN IN BARNSLEY
We need your help!
Over the next few months the Barnsley Community Dental Service will be visiting schools as part of the national dental survey of 5 year old children. Your child will be bringing home a letter which you will need to sign and return to school. We're asking you to give consent for your child to take part in the survey as the results help us to plan better dental services for Barnsley people.
The children taking part will have a simple check at school from a dentist and assistant who are trained to do this work. The check takes only a few minutes and we will let you know if we find anything wrong.
This check doesn't replace your normal dentist check-up. You should still take your child/children to visit the dentist as normal.
For more information please contact Nisha Bull, Senior Dental Officer on (01226) 433101.
PROTECT YOUR LITTLE ONES FROM FLU THIS WINTER
If you have children aged two, three or four, don’t put off taking them for their free flu vaccination.
Flu can be a very unpleasant illness in children as they suffer the same symptoms as adults including fever, chills and aching muscles.
The vaccine is a nasal spray – it’s quick, effective and painless.
The vaccine will not give them flu - talk to your doctor or find more information at www.barnsley.gov.uk/flu
